The dental implant is made up of two parts: a false dental root and a crown. It is the Golden Standard procedure when a tooth is untreatable because of a large cavity, a fracture, or other. This procedure consists of the removal of the tooth and its replacement with an implant that gives the highly aesthetic appearance of a natural tooth. It is generally operated in three sessions and comprises three phases:
1. Installation of the false root in the jawbone,
2. The false root integrates with the jawbone from 3 to 7 months,
3. Installation of the crown on the false root embedded in the jawbone.

The root part of the dental implant can last for a lifetime with adequate care. The crown part, on the other hand, may require replacement after 10 to 15 years. For a dental implant to be operated, some prerequisites have to be respected:

Healthy gum

Sufficiently dense and healthy bone structure to support the implant
